SEWA Lucknow was selected Under SJSRY and was supported by District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for bringing together the semi skilled chikan (hand embroidery) artisans who were from the minority and ST/SC community belonging from within the jurisdiction of DUDA Lucknow's geographical operational slum areas in the city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. It has covered 15 slum areas within the city of Lucknow and has established 32 slum centers. It has reached out to total 800 beneficiaries. All 800 have been bank linked and 120 have taken loan from Indian Bank with the rest 230 opting from loans from other banks. As a whole, out of 800 trainees, 85% are getting regular work from SEWA Lucknow as on 31st n March 2013.

The total amount of loan taken by 120 trainees was Rs. 11690000 and received a subsidy of Rs. 4091500 (35%) amount payable on principal was Rs. 7598500 of which they have repaid Rs. 4241259 . Thus as 31st March 2013 their balance principal amount that remains to be paid is Rs. 3357241. Regular repayments are being made since 31st March 2013.
